What to Wear for Mist Dance, Pool Sessions, and Adventure: Footwear & Hygiene Protocol

A complete dress code and hygiene manual for day outings: synthetic swimwear for pools, rigid closed footwear for rope courses, and towel guidelines.

1. Why Specialized Clothing Matters: Safety and Sanitation

Recreational resorts feature diverse environments—from high-friction rope harnesses suspended 20 feet in the air to treated swimming pools and high-pressure mist dance floors. Wearing appropriate clothing is not just about comfort; it is a primary safety and hygiene requirement.

Standard cotton apparel such as jeans, salwar kameez, or t-shirts shed microscopic lint when submerged in treated water, which quickly clogs pool filtration systems and disrupts chemical pH balance. Similarly, climbing high-rope elements in loose sarees, flowing dupattas, or flip-flops presents severe entanglement and slipping hazards.

  • ·Cotton clothing sheds fibers that choke industrial sand filtration pumps.
  • ·Loose garments (scarves, dupattas, ties) pose severe snagging risks on pulley cables and carabiners.
  • ·Inappropriate footwear causes the majority of slip-and-fall injuries on climbing platforms.

2. Swimming Pool and Mist Dance Attire Requirements

Entry to the main swimming pool and the afternoon Rain Mist Dance floor requires 100% synthetic swimwear. Approved fabrics include nylon, lycra, spandex, and polyester blends designed specifically for water immersion.

Men should wear swimming trunks or synthetic swim shorts with secure drawstrings. Women may wear one-piece swimsuits, two-piece suits, or full-body synthetic modesty swimsuits (burkinis). Children must also wear synthetic swim gear; infants who are not toilet-trained must use specialized waterproof swim diapers.

  • ·Approved: Nylon, lycra, spandex, and polyester swimming suits, rash guards, and trunks.
  • ·Strictly Prohibited: Denim shorts, cotton t-shirts, underwear, sarees, salwars, and nightwear.
  • ·Infant Requirement: Waterproof swim diapers are mandatory for children under 2 years in all water bodies.
  • ·Compulsory shower under the poolside rinse towers is required before entering the water.

3. Footwear Regulations: Adventure Tower vs Poolside Grounds

Footwear guidelines at Mango Mist are strictly enforced by our certified safety marshals. For all adventure rope courses, canopy ziplines, rock climbing walls, and bamboo bridges, guests must wear fully closed sports shoes or sneakers with secure laces.

Sandals, open-toed footwear, high heels, leather loafers, and bare feet are strictly forbidden on harness courses. At the swimming pool and mist dance zones, water-resistant flip-flops or non-slip rubber slides are recommended for walking around wet deck surfaces.

  • ·Adventure Courses: Closed sports sneakers with rubber traction outsoles only.
  • ·Pool Deck: Anti-skid rubber slides or pool slippers recommended (removed at pool edge).
  • ·Dining & Lawns: Comfortable casual footwear, sandals, or walking shoes are welcome.
